Makesirr OleKanai Celebrates 25 years of serving Maasai Rural Communities this week. ICROSS has always believed that the future lies in building long term local resources and skills at village level. We have 12 team members who have worked in ICROSS Programmes for over a decade six including Makesirr, for 25 Years or more. These dedicated Community agents of change quietly work in semi desert and desert areas through drought, famine, epidemics and social unrest. Danny Ngwiri, The Country Director of ICROSS is seen here awarding a training scholarship to Makesirr OleKanai who is the Maasai Programme Director. Makessir said today... "I will continue to work with new generations of Maasai as we try to end poverty and malnutrition among our people. We are working with Faith groups, Government and politicians working together to make sure our children and their children's children never see the hunger that we have experienced in our own lives"
